Liberty Belle Chorus
Formed in 1960, "LBC" has members that represent more than 50 communities in Massachusetts
and New Hampshire who travel to Arlington, MA for weekly rehearsals. Throughout the last 30+
years, LBC has consistently placed in the top 5 choruses in the Region 1 Annual Competition in
Springfield, bringing home a medal every year!
We are a diverse group of women; we come from all walks of life. What we have in common is our
love of music, our joy in singing and the fact we love to perform. We’re a group of hams! We’re
mothers, sisters, aunts, and grandmothers. WE ARE EVERY WOMAN. We range in age from the
early twenties and up. Our love for our craft is obvious and infectious, and our rehearsals are
wonderful opportunities to develop and improve our vocal skills as we build warm, supportive
friendships. The camaraderie is the icing on the cake! Come visit one of our rehearsals and see for
yourself!
The Liberty Belle Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International. Sweet Adelines International
(SAI) is a non-profit international organization of approximately 30,000 women. SAI is dedicated to
the preservation, education, and promotion of a cappella four-part barbershop style harmony; an
original American music art form. There are chapters in all the 50 United States as well as in
Australia, Canada, England, Finland, Germany, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden
and the Netherlands. The Liberty Belle Chorus is a chapter of SAI in North Atlantic Region 1 which
includes all of New England, upper northeastern New York State, and the eastern provinces of
Canada.
